All India Civil Services Weightlifting & Powerlifting Tournament Kicks Off in Chandigarh

CHANDIGARH — The All India Civil Services Weightlifting & Powerlifting Tournament 2025–26 (Men & Women) officially commenced today at the Weightlifting Hall in the Sports Complex, Sector-42.

Organised by the Sports Department of the Chandigarh Administration, under the aegis of the Central Civil Services Cultural & Sports Board (CCSCSB), New Delhi, the prestigious national tournament will run until March 10, 2026.

Opening Day Highlights and Results During today’s competitions, spectators witnessed exciting and fiercely competitive contests across several weight categories. Athletes from various states and regional sports boards delivered impressive performances.

Here are the official results from the events held today:

Women’s Categories

  • 53 Kg:

    1. Harshada S. Garud (Govt. of Maharashtra) – 118 kg

    2. Pooja Sharma (CCSCSB) – 98 kg

    3. Manju Bhuarya (Raipur, Chhattisgarh) – 83 kg

  • 58 Kg:

    1. Bhuneshwari Nishad (Raipur, Chhattisgarh) – 92 kg

    2. S. Gunuvathi (Puducherry Secretariat) – 78 kg

    3. Shruti K. Tare (Govt. of Maharashtra) – 78 kg

  • 63 Kg:

    1. Uma Patel (Madhya Pradesh) – 92 kg

    2. Anita (Punjab Sports Department) – 80 kg

    3. Manisha A. Sarode (Govt. of Maharashtra) – 73 kg

  • 69 Kg:

    1. Diksha Gaikwad (Govt. of Maharashtra) – 120 kg

    2. Pooja Ahlawat (RSB Chandigarh) – 105 kg

    3. D. Suganthi (Puducherry Secretariat) – 90 kg

Men’s Categories

  • 65 Kg:

    1. Sanket M. Sargar (Govt. of Maharashtra) – 216 kg

    2. Kondapalli Gowribabu (RSB Hyderabad) – 197 kg

    3. M. Tamil Selvan (RSB Chennai) – 195 kg

  • 71 Kg:

    1. Y. Shiva Kumar (RSB Hyderabad) – 234 kg

    2. Neeraj (Yamunanagar, Haryana) – 226 kg

    3. Mihir Soni (RSB Jaipur) – 224 kg

The high-octane competitions will continue over the coming days, with athletes set to compete in the remaining categories of both weightlifting and powerlifting.
