Sangrur, March 16: Punjab’s Principal Secretary of Health and Family Welfare, Mr. Kumar Rahul, visited Civil Hospital Sangrur to assess the health of female patients admitted to the Gynaecology ward. During his visit, he interacted with 14 patients and their family members, assuring them of their well-being.
No Critical Cases Reported
Addressing the media, Mr. Kumar Rahul stated that while three patients experienced minor health issues after being administered Normal Saline (NS), doctors provided immediate treatment, and none required a referral to another hospital.
Action Taken on Normal Saline Batch
🔹 Ban on Specific NS Batch: The entire batch of Normal Saline used in this case has been banned across all hospitals in Punjab.
🔹 Lab Testing Initiated: The Drug Inspector is collecting samples and sending them for laboratory testing, with results expected in 2-3 days.
🔹 Strict Action Assured: If the samples fail the quality test, strict action will be taken against the concerned supplier/firm.
