CHANDIGARH — In a significant intellectual engagement centered on Indian thought, culture, and its contemporary global relevance, the Panchnad Research Institute organized a special lecture on Friday at the NITTTR Auditorium in Sector 26.
The core theme of the prominent gathering was “Bharatiya Narrative in Global Perspective,” which aimed to explore and understand the vital role of Indian ideology in addressing modern global challenges.
Global Conflicts and Moral Responsibility The keynote address was delivered by Dattatreya Hosabale, General Secretary (Sarkaryavah) of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). In a profound reflection on the current state of global conflicts, Hosabale noted a striking paradox: while the initiators of wars often later become the loudest advocates for peace, the harsh reality of witnessing such destruction remains deeply unsettling.
Drawing timeless wisdom from Indian epics, he highlighted that the Ramayana offers universal lessons in the purity of thought and conduct.
“The Ramayana is not merely in books; it is reflected in righteous conduct and is embedded in India’s culture and civilisation,” Hosabale stated.
A Civilisation-Driven Nation Emphasizing India’s historical and enduring ethos, Hosabale pointed out that despite being a powerful nation, India has never pursued a path of aggression against other countries. He firmly asserted that India is not merely a military state, but a civilization-driven, culturally rooted, and spiritually inspired nation.
To establish this peaceful worldview globally, he advised, the effort must first begin within individual families and the nation itself.
