PUNE: Chandigarh Rowing Association (CRA) athletes Jaspal Singh and Yuvraj Singh Parmar delivered a stellar performance to clinch the Gold Medal in the Men’s Double Scull event at the Under-23 National Rowing Championship. The prestigious event was held today at the Army Rowing Node in Pune.
The dynamic duo commanded the race, clocking an impressive time of 7:38.8. Their powerful finish left behind strong competing teams from Odisha, Punjab, and Delhi, securing them the top spot on the podium.
A Stepping Stone to Asian Glory
The victory in Pune carries significant weight for the young athletes’ international prospects. Sharing the achievement, Rajiv Sharma, Secretary of the Chandigarh Rowing Association, highlighted that the national championship serves as a crucial selection trial for the Junior Asian Rowing Championship.
The Junior Asian tournament has been allotted to India and is scheduled to be held in December 2026, also at the Army Rowing Node in Pune.
CRA Leadership Lauds the Champions
The outstanding performance of the young rowers drew high praise from the association’s leadership. Dr. Anmol Rattan Sidhu, Senior Advocate and President of the Chandigarh Rowing Association, congratulated the medal winners and expressed immense confidence in their future endeavors.
