CHANDIGARH: A wave of celebration swept through the city’s sporting community as the Chandigarh Rowing Association (CRA) hosted a grand felicitation ceremony for its champion rowers.
Dr. Anmol Rattan Sidhu, Senior Advocate, Former Advocate General of Punjab, and President of the Chandigarh Rowing Association, alongside CRA Secretary Advocate Rajiv Sharma and other executive members, warmly welcomed rowers Jaspal Singh and Yuvraj Parmar. The athletes were recognized for their outstanding achievement in clinching the Gold Medal in the Men’s Double Sculls event at the recent Under-23 National Rowing Championship held in Pune, Maharashtra.
Honoring Dedication and Excellence
The victorious athletes were honored immediately upon their arrival in Chandigarh. In addition to the young rowers, their coach, Jaspal Singh, was also felicitated in recognition of his guidance, the team’s exceptional performance, and their collective effort in bringing laurels to Chandigarh.
During the event, Dr. Sidhu personally congratulated the rowers and their coach. He highly appreciated their unwavering dedication, rigorous hard work, and steadfast commitment to excellence.
“These young athletes have made Chandigarh incredibly proud with their stellar performance on the national stage. Their hard work sets a benchmark for aspiring sports talent in the region,” Dr. Sidhu noted while expressing his best wishes for their continued success in future national and international rowing competitions.
The grand reception underscores the CRA’s ongoing commitment to nurturing and supporting local athletic talent as they set their sights on even bigger stages, including the upcoming Junior Asian Rowing Championship.
