CHANDIGARH (The India Post): Haryana Governor Prof. Ashim Kumar Ghosh has extended his heartfelt greetings and best wishes to the people of the state on the auspicious occasion of Kabir Jayanti.
In his official message, the Governor paid glowing tributes to Sant Kabir, describing him as one of India’s greatest saint-poets and social reformers. He emphasized that Kabir’s timeless teachings continue to serve as a beacon, inspiring humanity toward truth, equality, compassion, and universal brotherhood.
A Champion of Social Equality
The Governor highlighted that Kabir fearlessly challenged social discrimination, caste-based divisions, religious intolerance, and blind faith during his time. Instead, the mystic poet advocated for a society firmly founded on justice, harmony, and mutual respect.
“Kabir’s message transcends the boundaries of caste, creed and religion. His teachings remind us that humanity is the highest religion and that every individual deserves equal dignity and respect. His life continues to guide us in building a society that is inclusive, compassionate and free from discrimination,” Prof. Ghosh stated.
A Call to the Younger Generation
Focusing on the relevance of Kabir’s philosophy in the modern era, the Governor noted that the saint’s emphasis on rational thinking, self-realization, moral values, and inner purity remains a powerful inspiration to rise above prejudice and work collectively for the welfare of society.
He made a special appeal to the people, particularly the youth, to actively imbibe Kabir’s core ideals:
