CHANDIGARH: Following his recent appointment, Dr. Mata Ravi Kiran has officially assumed charge as the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) of the Haryana State Enforcement Bureau.
Immediately after taking office, the ADGP conducted a comprehensive inspection of all branches located at the Bureau’s headquarters. Addressing the officials, he established that the primary objective of the Enforcement Bureau under his tenure will be to ensure effective, impartial, time-bound, and prompt action across the state. He explicitly instructed all branch in-charges to clear backlogs and ensure that no files remain pending.
Strategic Directives for Law Enforcement
Emphasizing the absolute necessity of effective inter-departmental coordination, Dr. Ravi Kiran issued strict directives to all officers and personnel to execute targeted enforcement operations.
Key focus areas outlined by the ADGP include:
-
Illegal Mining: Launching special drives and taking appropriate legal action to halt illicit mining operations.
-
Liquor Smuggling: Conducting aggressive raids and initiating strict legal proceedings against the illegal production, sale, and smuggling of liquor.
-
Resource Theft: Taking stringent measures to prevent electricity and water theft in close coordination with the respective state departments.
-
Public Property Protection: Removing illegal encroachments from government and public properties and initiating immediate action against unauthorized colonies.
-
Anti-Social Elements: Working in close coordination with district police to maintain law and order and crack down on local anti-social elements.
Integrating Modern Technology
To bolster these enforcement efforts, the ADGP strongly called for the integration of modern technology into daily policing. He directed officials to actively utilize specialized drone units and drone mapping software to continuously monitor vulnerable areas and track large-scale illegal activities, particularly illicit mining.
State-Level Training Camp in Panchkula
To align the force with these renewed objectives, a two-day state-level training camp for the Haryana State Enforcement Bureau has been scheduled for October 13 and 14, 2026.
The intensive training programme will be held at the Dial 112 Complex in Panchkula. Dr. Mata Ravi Kiran will officially inaugurate the camp, which will see the mandatory participation of all 314 investigating officers and personnel currently attached to the Bureau.
