CHANDIGARH: Demonstrating exceptional teamwork, discipline, and determination, The New Public School achieved a remarkable double victory at the Inter-School Basketball Championship 2026–27.
Organized by the Chandigarh Sports Department, the highly anticipated tournament was held at the Sports Complex in Sector 42. The school’s athletes shined on the court, with both the U-14 Girls’ and U-14 Boys’ teams emerging as undisputed champions in their respective categories.
Girls Dominate the Court
The U-14 Girls’ team delivered a completely dominant performance in their title clash against Gurukul Global School. Showcasing a highly disciplined defense, accurate shooting, and excellent on-court coordination, the girls controlled the tempo of the game from start to finish. They easily swept past their opponents, securing a resounding 28–02 victory to lift the championship trophy.
Boys Show Resilience Under Pressure
Meanwhile, the U-14 Boys’ team faced a tougher challenge but showcased remarkable grit and resilience in a closely contested final against Delhi Public School (DPS). Displaying strong composure under pressure and executing excellent tactical plays, the boys fended off a spirited fightback from DPS to register a well-earned 50–42 victory.
The school administration lauded the athletes, noting that these outstanding achievements are a true testament to the players’ dedication, perseverance, and rigorous training. The management also praised the expert guidance of the coaches who shaped the championship-winning squads.
