Chandigarh : A major milestone in environmental conservation was achieved today under the “Ek Thaila, Ek Thali” campaign, as Harit Punjab spearheaded a significant initiative in Panchkula. The campaign promotes sustainable practices by encouraging the use of reusable utensils during sacred events such as the Mahakumbh.

Ahead of the ceremonial event in Panchkula’s industrial area, plates and glasses were meticulously packed in Jagadhri, Yamunanagar district, and transported to the site. After a religious puja to mark the occasion, the utensils were dispatched to Prayagraj for the Mahakumbh.

The following items were sent to Prayagraj from Punjab: 16,560 glasses and 27,000 plates

This reflects the remarkable success of the “Ek Thaila, Ek Thali” campaign and the public’s enthusiasm for sustainable practices.

Praveen Kumar, Provincial Convenor of Harit Punjab, emphasized the campaign’s objectives: “This initiative underscores our responsibility towards environmental protection. Such steps will not only create history but also positively impact our environment.” He urged citizens to replace disposable items with reusable alternatives during weddings, parties, and other gatherings, adding: “Small steps can create a massive impact. It is time for us to unite and raise awareness to save the environment.”

The “Ek Thaila, Ek Thali” committee expressed heartfelt gratitude to the organizers, volunteers, and citizens who contributed to this noble cause. The campaign promotes the use of biodegradable and reusable utensils during the Mahakumbh to ensure environmental sustainability.

The event witnessed active participation from various dignitaries: Fatehgarh Sahib: Sandeep Kashyap, Seema Dheer, Usha Mahawar, Shashi Garg,

Chandigarh: Rajinder Jain, Dr. Pradeep Sharma, Vinod Bansal, Prashant Ji, Mohali: Amit Kalia, Tarsem, Bhupinder Bhatia, Vijeta, Dr. Ajay Gandhi, Panchkula: Manoj Sharma, Ashok, Ravinder

This collective effort symbolizes a step forward in fostering sustainable practices, reinforcing the idea that small actions can lead to transformative change.
