Anjaneya Tewari, Chandigarh: As part of the ‘Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Ji Samrasta Sankalp Abhiyan’, the Bharatiya Janata Party Chandigarh Pradesh organized a grand and spiritually significant event today. During the ceremony, sacred soil kalash brought from the holy birthplace of Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj at Shri Govardhanpur, Varanasi, were ceremonially handed over to the District Presidents and office bearers of all six districts of Chandigarh.
The event was held at the Chintpurni Mata Temple in Sector 32, under the leadership of BJP Chandigarh Pradesh President Jatinder Pal Malhotra.
A Message of Social Harmony and Equality
The overarching campaign aims to spread the timeless ideals of social harmony, social justice, equality, humanity, and national unity as preached by Sant Guru Ravidas Ji.
Addressing the large gathering of devotees and party workers, Jatinder Pal Malhotra emphasized that the campaign is not merely a religious initiative but a mass social awareness movement inspired by the teachings of the revered saint. He stated that the BJP is fully committed to carrying forward Guru Ravidas Ji’s ideals of equality, brotherhood, selfless service, and human dignity to every section of society.
The ceremony was graced by senior political figures, including BJP National Vice President Saudan Singh and Chief Guest Gajender Singh Yadav, MLA from the Mehrauli Assembly Constituency in Delhi. The leaders handed over the sacred kalash to the representatives of all six districts following traditional Vedic rituals and prayers. Chandigarh Mayor Saurabh Joshi was also present to support the initiative.
Speaking at the occasion, Saudan Singh noted that the teachings of Sant Guru Ravidas Ji continue to inspire millions and remain highly relevant in building a harmonious, inclusive society. He expressed confidence that the campaign will further strengthen social unity and national integration.
Chief Guest Gajender Singh Yadav added that the life and philosophy of Sant Guru Ravidas Ji inspire people to rise above discrimination and work toward an egalitarian and compassionate society.
Upcoming ‘Kalash Yatras’ Across Chandigarh
The event also saw the presence of Campaign Convenor and State General Secretary Ramveer Bhatti, former Mayor Ravikant Sharma, SC Morcha State President Amit Khairwal, and senior BJP leaders including Rajesh Kalia, Rajpal Dogar, Rajinder Kaur Rattu, Farmila, and Ramesh Kumar Nikku, alongside numerous party workers.
Following today’s handover, the sacred kalash will be taken in grand Kalash Yatras across all mandals within the six districts in the coming days. These processions aim to transform the initiative into a massive grassroots movement, ensuring that Guru Ravidas Ji’s message of unity and social justice reaches every household and connects every segment of society with the campaign’s core values.
